VALKYRE was formed at the end of 2004 and the beginning of 2005 by Kris Scheerlinck after leaving his
former band SENGIR.
The band consists of different well-trained musicians coming from different styles of
music but with the same common interest : melodic atmospherical metal.
VALKYRE's style can be described as a mixture from gothic-metal, classical music, folkmusic and melodic
metal.
Influenced by bands as Therion, In Extremo, Nightwish and Kamelot this band provides you with a
nice blend of atmosphere and metal heaviness.
After a break of 2 years, 2 successful sold-out demo’s and about 100 concerts all over Europe VALKYRE
inked a deal with the new German label Valkyrie Rising (what’s in a name?).
As a result in march 2014, Our Glorious Demise, the first full length album was released.
This album was
recorded under supervision of Xavier Carion, the former Channel Zero riffmeister and mixed at the
Woodhouse studio’s in Hagen by by Siggi Bemm.
After a successfull promotion tour that lasted until the end
of 2016 Valkyre took a break to prepare the new album: The Laudanum Dysphoria.
As a preparation to a new European tour Valkyre will hit the road again as from summer 2019.
